Piston Filling Machine

A piston — or a matched pump — doses liquids and pastes into a pouch. The host is rotary or VFFS, not a bottle line and not a third VFFS machine.

A piston filling machine is a dosing station that pushes a liquid or paste into a pouch. On this site the host is a rotary premade-pouch machine or a VFFS that forms the pouch from film. The filler is a piston or a pump, selected for the product. It is not a bottle filler and not a third VFFS SKU.

This URL keeps the leftover slug. It does not publish leftover model codes, and it does not fill the empty leftover spec tab. Bottle lines, benchtop “single piston” fillers and “for sale” listings are not this page.

The station

What a piston filler actually is

It is a dosing station on a pouch line. The pouch is presented and sealed on a host. The piston only measures product.

Illustrative pump from the same line library. Rotary and VFFS pages both say pump or piston — leftover “air piston only” is not reused.
  1. Hopper or feedA working head of liquid or paste. Temperature, particles and whether the product strings or foams are project checks.
  2. Piston or pumpA piston displaces a chamber into the pouch. A matched pump is the other named route. Viscosity, inclusions, temperature, cut-off and cleaning decide — from the real product.
  3. Nozzle into the pouchThe host has already presented a premade pouch or a VFFS tube. Liquid on the seal band is the usual sachet failure. A pack photograph does not prove compatibility.
  4. Not a third VFFSLeftover copy called this “one of the most typical VFFS machines”. It is not. Hosts are screened on the rotary and VFFS Keep pages.

Volume is not labelled weight. A piston displaces a volume. Grams on the label still depend on density and cut-off. This page does not publish a ±%, a cylinder size, or the leftover empty spec tab filled in.

Piston, pump, cups and bottles are different jobs

The leftover page listed cup, auger and weigher as “more VFFS machines”. They are dosing routes — and bottles are not this site.

The hosts

Two hosts, not a third VFFS SKU

Choose the pouch first. Premade pouches go to rotary. Roll film formed on the line goes to VFFS.

Rotary fill-and-seal

The rotary host picks up the ready-made pouch, opens it, presents it for filling, seals and discharges. Liquids and pastes on that page start with pump or piston. Spout is a pouch feature, confirmed from the real pouch — not a default on this URL.

Project inputs

What to send before anyone sizes a piston or pump

These are questions. Leftover listed a “liquid warming system” and a mixer as options — those stay unconfirmed. Ask them here instead of publishing a catalogue.

01
Product conditionViscosity as you fill it, inclusions, temperature, foaming, stringing. A cold jar on a desk is not the fill condition.
02
Target fillMillilitres or grams, and the tolerance you actually accept. A piston displaces volume; labelled weight is a project check.
03
PouchPremade (rotary) or formed from film (VFFS). Finished W × L. Spout only if the real pouch has one.
04
Film or pouch stockSeal layer and whether splash will see the seal band. Film examples on the VFFS page are not a universal approval.
05
CleaningAllergen or colour change, how thoroughly the filler must be cleaned. Do not read this page as a CIP certificate.
06
Host and outputRotary or VFFS, bags per shift. Heated path if the paste will not move cold — a question, not a listed module.

No numbers invented here. Cylinder volume, nozzle type, 316 vs 304, and utilities are confirmed against your sample. Dual-inch figures on this page convert published millimetre host widths only.

Common questions

Piston filling machine FAQs

Each answer opens with the answer itself. Line procurement stays on the liquid industry page. Speed and price are not invented here.

What is a piston filling machine on this site?

A piston filling machine is a dosing station that pushes a liquid or paste into a pouch — or a matched pump when that route fits.

The leftover page copied cup-filler “volumetric packing machines” language. That sentence is not reused. This URL is the liquid dosing component.

Is a piston filling machine a VFFS machine?

No. The piston doses product; a VFFS or rotary host presents and seals the pouch.

Leftover called it one of the most typical VFFS machines. The hosts are VFFS and rotary premade.

Piston or pump — which do I need?

Both are named liquid routes on Spack hosts. Viscosity, inclusions, temperature, cut-off and cleaning decide, from the real product.

Do not read leftover “air piston” as the only filler type Spack quotes.

Does this fill bottles?

No. This page is pouch filling. Bottle unscrambling and capping are a different machine family.

Queries such as single-piston benchtop fillers and mineral-water lines are not this URL.

Can it run on a rotary premade-pouch machine?

Yes as a host option: the rotary machine picks, opens and seals the pouch; the piston or pump is selected for the product.

Industry-level pouch routes live on liquid and paste pouch packaging.

How accurate / how fast is it?

No ±% and no bags-per-minute figure are published here. Leftover empty specs are not filled in.

Do not import the leftover industry claim of 200 bags per minute. Compare quotations on bags per shift, on the same pouch.

What models do you offer?

This rebuild does not publish leftover L-series codes. Screen the host on the rotary or VFFS page.

Until engineering confirms current piston-station names, this page describes the function, not a model plate.

How much does a piston filling machine cost?

No figure on this page would be meaningful. Price follows host, filler and cleaning path.

“For sale” queries are not this URL. Fix product, pouch and output, then ask for a comparable quotation.

Is CIP included?

CIP is not published as a standard Spack liquid-pouch module. Cleaning needs are a project input.

The same fence lives on the liquid industry page. Do not read 304/316 leftover language as a line-wide BOM.

What do you need to recommend a piston filler?

Product condition (viscosity, inclusions, temperature), target fill, pouch, film, bags per shift, and which host you want.

Send a production-representative sample at fill temperature. Write via Contact.

Next step

Send the liquid, the fill and the pouch

That is enough to say piston versus pump, and whether the host is rotary or VFFS.

Project confirmation. Host, filler and output are confirmed against your samples and site conditions before anything is quoted as final. Warranty, if you already have a machine, is 12 months from receipt — the split is on Services.
