Which snack packaging machine do I need?

Start from the bag you want on the shelf. Roll-film bags (pillow, gusset) point to VFFS; ready-made pouches (doypack, zipper, flat-bottom) point to the rotary premade pouch machine. Both use a multihead weigher for snack pieces.

Output and accuracy

What sets the speed and weight on a snack line

These are the points we check with your sample before stating a speed in the quotation.

Piece size and fragility

Large or fragile pieces (chips, crackers) need a gentle drop path and the right weigher hopper size. Small pieces flow faster.

Bag length and fill volume

Light, bulky snacks need long bags. A longer bag takes more time per cycle, so bags per minute go down.

Seasoning, oil and sugar

Coated and sticky products need a matched hopper surface and may need cleaning access planned into the line.

Gas flush

Flushing the bag with gas protects crunch and shelf life. It is an option on the VFFS line; send your target with the inquiry.

Film or pouch material

Seal temperature and time follow the film or pouch structure. Send the material specification or a sample roll or pouch.

Downstream equipment

Checkweighers, metal detectors and case packing are separate items. List them so the discharge height and conveyor are planned.

Snack packaging machine FAQs

Which machine is best for potato chips?

A high-speed VFFS machine with a multihead weigher. It forms pillow or gusset bags from roll film and can add gas flush. If you sell chips in premade stand-up pouches, use the rotary premade pouch machine with a weigher instead.

Which machine is best for nuts and mixed nuts?

For stand-up zipper pouches, a rotary premade pouch machine (SPM-200R, 250R or 320R) with a multihead weigher. For pillow bags at high output, a high-speed VFFS with a multihead weigher.

How many bags per minute can a snack packaging machine pack?

The high-speed VFFS family runs up to 100 bags/min. The rotary premade pouch machines run 10–60 bags/min (SPM-320R: 10–50). Your rate depends on bag length, dose and product; we state it after the sample test.

How accurate is the weight?

The multihead weigher combines several hoppers to reach the target weight. On the rotary line the reference is ±1% with the weigher matched to your product. The sample test video shows the result on your snack.

How much does a snack packaging machine cost?

The price depends on the line (VFFS or rotary), the model, the weigher, the elevator and options such as gas flush, zipper opening or coding. Every quotation is itemised so you can compare each part. Send your snack, bag size and target output for a quote.

Can I test my snack before ordering?

Yes. Send your product and bag or pouch. We return a test video within 3 working days of receiving the samples.

What is the lead time and warranty?

Lead time is 14–40 days from deposit. Warranty is 12 months from machine receipt, with remote support first and on-site visits on agreed terms.

Are the snack packaging machines CE marked?

Yes. VFFS-320S, VFFS-420S and the SPM-200R, 250R and 320R rotary machines are CE-marked under Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC (EN ISO 12100, EN 60204-1, EN 415-1). The technical file was reviewed by UDEM, certificate M.2024.206.C100050, valid to 2029-04-25. Ask us for the certificate and declaration of conformity.
