Flat Bottom Pouch Packaging Machine

Box or block base. Premade fill-and-seal — two hosts, not a third machine.

A flat-bottom pouch is a block- or box-bottom stand-up pack. On this site it is usually a premade pouch filled on a rotary or horizontal host — not a unique machine, not a flat sachet, and not a published VFFS quad-seal family. Buyers searching for flat bottom bagging equipment, a flat bottom bagging machine or a flat bottom bag packaging machine are on this format hub.

A doypack is a softer bottom-gusset stand-up — that is the doypack hub. Side, bottom or M-fold as a fold lives on the gusset hub. A flat sachet is 3-side or 4-side on the sachet hub. A back-fin pillow belongs on the pillow hub. This page does not convert pouches in a bag factory.

Block, box, quad and square-bottom names

Buyers say “flat bottom bagging machine” for a pouch that stands on a rectangular base. Those industry names are aliases for one format — not extra Spack SKUs, and not a trademarked bag style sold here.

Premade path

Magazine, open, fill, seal

A flat bottom pouch packaging machine on this site does not form the bag from film. It loads premade pouches, opens them, doses the product, then seals the top.

Linear premade pouch host with bag magazine, family reference

Stage 1

Load the magazine

Premade box-bottom pouches sit in a magazine or on a rotary infeed. You buy pouches, not a film roll. Magazine geometry still has to match the base.

Published rotary premade host used as an opening-station family reference

Stage 2

Open the pouch

This is the station that fails on a stiff box. If the pouch is M-fold, horizontal suction cups are the opening conversation. A box-bottom tuck is not a published option on either host.

Granule product used as a filling-state screening example

Stage 3

Dose the product

The filler is selected separately from the host. Powder, granule and liquid do not share one assumed doser. A product name is not a compatibility list.

Finished quad-seal pouch format reference after the top seal

Stage 4

Seal and discharge

The top seal closes the pouch. Zipper, if present, is a pouch feature — a zipper opener on the host is optional, not a standard bill of materials.

Photo scope. Magazine and host shots are published premade-family references. They are not a mapped photo of a quoted box-bottom configuration, and they are not a dedicated flat-bottom SKU.

Host fork

Rotary or horizontal for box-bottom pouches

Pick the host from the pouch and the changeover, not from the words flat-bottom. The forks below are already confirmed on the premade buying guide.

Open a stiff or M-fold base

Horizontal suction cups can pull the faces fully open — useful when the box pouch is M-fold. Rotary grips both sides and may not expand some M-shaped bases as fully. Confirm with the real pouch.

Change pouch width

Rotary: the operator enters the width; gripper arms reposition automatically. Horizontal: width change is manual and comparatively involved. Several box-bottom widths in one shift usually point rotary — unless opening says otherwise.

Leon-confirmed forks. Price is qualitative only. No dollar figure is published here.

Width change Operator enters the pouch width; gripper arms reposition automatically. Width change is manual and comparatively involved. Frequent width SKUs are a poor fit. Several box-bottom widths in one shift usually point rotary first.
Opening the pouch Grips both sides. Some M-shaped bases may not expand fully. Suction cups can pull the faces fully open — an advantage on M-folds. A simple block base can sit on either host after a sample. An M-fold box is the horizontal conversation.
Zipper opener Confirm from the real pouch. Not assumed on every quotation. Zipper opening device is an option, not a standard BOM. A zipper on the artwork does not prove the host includes an opener.
Box-bottom tuck Not claimed here. Not claimed here until confirmed. Send the drawing. Do not treat tuck as a named option on this site.
Line price (qualitative) Generally above the horizontal host for a comparable project. Generally priced slightly below rotary. Final line price still depends on filler, options and scope. Do not pick a host from a website price. Ask for an itemized quotation on the same pouch.

How to compare. Longer buying questions stay on the top premade pouch filling machines guide so this hub does not duplicate it.

Not a published VFFS family

Can VFFS make quad-seal or box bags here?

Quad-seal and box-bottom forming on vertical form-fill-seal exist in the industry. They are not among the five bag families published on Spack’s VFFS page. This hub does not promise that tooling.

Published VFFS bag families on this site are pillow, 3-side sachet, 4-side sachet, shaped sachet and stick. Gusset, doypack, flat-bottom and triangle-snack are not on that list.

If you already run rollstock and have a quad-seal or box-bottom drawing, send it. Do not read the vertical form-fill-seal machine page as a flat bottom bagging machine catalogue.

  • No unique flat-bottom CPT.
  • No published VFFS 220 / 320 / 420 quad or block-bottom kit on this site.
  • No trademarked VFFS bag-style name sold as a Spack option.

Project inputs

What to define before asking for a configuration

Eight inputs settle most box-bottom enquiries. Send what you already have; gaps are normal on a first project.

01
Base W×DFinished width and depth of the rectangular base, not only the face width. A photograph of someone else’s pack is not a drawing.
02
Finished heightHow tall the pouch stands after fill. That is the other envelope the magazine and grippers have to match.
03
Bottom styleBlock, quad / four-corner, or an M-fold box. Mark tuck as unknown — it is not a named option here.
04
ZipperPresent or not, and where it sits. A zipper opener on the host is optional, not assumed included.
05
Product and dosePowder, granule or liquid, plus target grams or millilitres. The filler is selected separately.
06
How many widthsOne box-bottom size, or several. That is the rotary auto-width versus horizontal manual-width fork.
07
Target outputPouches per shift and how many shifts, rather than a peak bags-per-minute figure copied from another page.
08
Site utilitiesVoltage, phase, frequency and compressed air the building actually supplies — not a number inferred from a website.

Sample validation. Compatibility is confirmed with a production-representative product sample and the intended pouches. Opening a stiff box base is not confirmed by a product name.

08

Before you order

What to confirm when you import the machine

These machines are built in Shantou, Guangdong, China. Most first-time problems are not mechanical — they are things that were never confirmed in writing before the order. US buyers are the first audience for this page; UK and Australian plants ask the same utility and clearance questions.

Power and utilities at your site

Confirm supply voltage, phase and frequency against the configuration, along with compressed air. Do not infer a US 480 V / 60 Hz or a UK 415 V / 50 Hz supply from a website.

Ambient humidity

Powders cake, films slip and seals weaken when the plant runs humid. If that is your room, raise it early — it affects sustained output more than peak rate.

Documentation for your market

Decide which certificates and food-contact declarations you need on arrival, and who issues them — the machine builder or the pouch supplier. This page does not claim a destination-market approval.

Shipping, duty and clearance

Crated dimensions and weight drive freight; the HS classification drives duty. The customs clearance walkthrough lists what a US, UK or Australian broker will ask for.

Acceptance before dispatch

Agree what the machine has to demonstrate before it ships — which product, which box-bottom pouch, what open-and-seal result — and that it runs your sample, not a generic one.

Spares, tooling and format change

List wear parts and the change parts for each pouch width you plan to run. Warranty on the premade hosts is 12 months from receipt; freight on replacement parts during that period is the buyer’s.

Not a commitment. Nothing on this page states lead time, installation scope or after-sales terms. Those are confirmed per project in writing. First-time importers can start from the packaging machine buying guide. If you were searching for a flat bottom pouch packaging machine manufacturer in India, this is a Chinese-built line — say so in the enquiry so the comparison stays honest.

Common questions

Flat bottom pouch packaging machine FAQs

Each answer opens with the answer itself. Bag-making, factory and flat-sachet queries are answered here so they do not land on a fake converter SKU.

What is a flat bottom pouch packaging machine?

A flat bottom pouch packaging machine, in buyer language, is a fill-and-seal host for a pouch that stands on a box or block base.

On this site that is usually a premade rotary or horizontal host, not a unique Flat-Bottom SKU. Searches for flat bottom bagging equipment, a flat bottom bagging machine and a flat bottom bag packaging machine all belong on this format hub, then on those two hosts.

Flat-bottom vs doypack vs gusset?

A flat-bottom pouch stands on a box or quad base. A doypack is a stand-up pouch with a softer bottom gusset. A gusset is a fold that can sit on the sides, the bottom, or as an M-fold.

They can share the same two premade hosts. Depth lives on the doypack and gusset hubs so this page does not steal those queries.

Is a gusset bottom pouch the same as a flat-bottom pouch?

Not always. A bottom gusset that makes a stand-up doypack is not the same drawing as a box / block / quad base.

If the question is only the fold, open the gusset hub. If the pouch sits on a rectangular base, stay here.

Is this a bag-making machine or a pouch factory?

No. This hub is fill-and-seal for pouches that already exist. A flat bottom pouch making machine or a pouch factory converts film into bags.

If you need converting, say so in the enquiry. Do not force a bag-maker RFQ onto a premade host.

Is this a flat sachet machine?

No. A flat sachet is a 3-side or 4-side pack formed from roll film. A flat-bottom pouch is a stand-up box pack, usually premade.

Open the sachet hub for 3-side and 4-side. Stick pack is not a mini box pouch — that is the stick pack page.

Can VFFS make quad-seal or box bags here?

Not as a published Spack VFFS family. The live VFFS page lists pillow, 3-side, 4-side, shaped sachet and stick — not a formed box-bottom or quad-seal from film.

Industry VFFS box-bottom devices exist. Send a drawing if that is your project. Do not treat vertical form-fill-seal as a box-bag catalogue on this site.

Rotary or horizontal for flat-bottom pouches?

Use rotary when pouch width will change often — the operator can enter the width and the grippers reposition. Use horizontal when an M-fold box needs the faces pulled fully open by suction cups, or when a linear magazine is the plant preference.

A simple block base can be discussed on either host after a pouch sample. Horizontal is generally priced slightly below rotary; the line still depends on the filler. Box-bottom tuck is not a named option here.

What speed can I expect from a flat bottom pouch packaging machine?

See the host page. This hub does not pick a number.

The horizontal Keep page publishes both 50 and 60 bags per minute — a conflict, not a guaranteed production rate. Actual output depends on dose, pouch, filler and seal time. Compare quotations on pouches per shift, on the same pouch.

How much does a flat bottom pouch packaging machine cost?

No figure on this page would be meaningful, because price follows the pouch, the filler and the stations around it.

Fix the drawing, dose and pouches per shift, then ask for a comparable quotation. Horizontal is generally priced slightly below rotary; that is qualitative, not a dollar band.

Are you a flat bottom pouch packaging machine manufacturer in India?

No. Spack Machine builds these lines in Shantou, Guangdong, China, and ships them as an imported machine.

If you need a locally built Indian machine, say so in the enquiry so time is not spent on the wrong comparison. The import checks above are written for US, UK and Australian plants receiving a Chinese-built line.

Do I buy pouches or film?

Pouches. On this site a flat-bottom line buys premade box-bottom pouches and fills them. It does not form the bag from a film roll.

If you are buying roll film to form a small pack, you are on VFFS / sachet, not this hub.

What do you need from me to recommend a configuration?

A pouch drawing or sample (base W×D, height, zipper), a production-representative product sample, the target dose, and pouches per shift.

Site power and floor dimensions complete the picture. Anything still open can be marked as such — do not guess a bags-per-minute figure to look ready.
