Sachet and stick pack packaging: guides and machines

Sachets and stick packs are single-dose packs made on vertical machines from roll film. This page groups our guides on formats, cost and machine selection.

Questions buyers ask

What is the difference between a sachet and a stick pack?

A sachet is a flat pack sealed on three or four sides. A stick pack is a long, narrow tube sealed at the back and both ends. Stick packs use less film per dose; sachets suit wider doses and shaped packs.

Can one machine make both sachets and stick packs?

A VFFS machine can, but not on one forming set. Each format needs its own former and sealing jaws.

Which filler does a sachet machine use?

An auger for powders, a volumetric cup or weigher for granules, and a pump for liquids and pastes.
